How to fit a breast form

How do you Fit Breast Forms

A question we are frequrntly asked is ‘how do you fit breast forms’, and the answer to that starts with something else – YOUR BRA! Fitting your Boost could not be easier, but you really need to start with a well-fitting bra first. Think of your bra like the foundation structure of your outfit; it makes all the difference to your breast form fit, your confidence and your comfort.

We highly recommend a professional bra fitting and/or breast form fitting appointment in the first instance. Go and see one of the fabulous independent highstreet women’s wear stores, or why not pop to your local Bravissimo? Wherever you choose to go, fitting advice can make a big difference!

Right, you have your bra sorted. Let’s fit the boob.

Effortless Breast Form Fitting

Here’s our 3 easy steps to positioning your Boost:

  • Make sure your bra is in the right position. This means that the straps are adjusted for your frame and the underband is snug and underneath the breast line. If you are a uni-boobed woman, making sure your breast is fully supported in the cup means that it will be easier to balance your symmetry with our lightweight breast forms. That might mean a bit of ‘scooping’ and adjusting!

  • Slip the strap down off the shoulder to position the breast form. Look for the bottom edge, seam or underwire of the bra and position your Boost firmly downwards along that edge. Pull the shoulder strap back up and adjust accordingly.

  • At this point, it’s useful to check the straps and underband again. Pull the underband down if it has wriggled up, and adjust the straps on the bra if needed. A Boost is lighter than a traditional breast form, so the strap on the Boost side may need lengthening to ensure the breast form sits evenly with the other boob. For a double mastectomy, it’s useful to adjust shoulder straps at this point to make sure the breast forms are not too far up or down the chest.

And for pocketed bras? Well, it’s the same principle, but you might want to place the Boost in your pocket before you put your bra on and follow the steps, spending time to adjust, wiggle and find a good balance. Once you’ve got the hang of it, straps are adjusted and you have a great ‘bra-drobe’ to choose from, fitting your Boost should be effortless, easy and intuitive.
