Boost on Steph’s Packed Lunch

We’ve just come our first every LIVE TV broadcast for Channel 4 – and it was so much fun! It’s funny how things work out- in the middle of our super-busy week at John Lewis we got a random phone call. It was a researcher from Steph’s Packed Lunch, the popular daytime TV show hosted by Steph McGovern. Steph’s team were planning a special show dedicated to people whose lives had been affected by cancer.

We told the researcher about our story; how Boost was founded and why we chose to create the products in the way that we did. Late on Friday evening we got a call back to say we had been chosen to appear on the show and needed to travel to Leeds on Sunday night for filming on Monday!

Wowzers! With short notice, Sam had to pack up our samples and some of our display boards and headed off straight from the John Lewis pop-up on Sunday afternoon to catch the train. Luckily the John Lewis personal shoppers were on hand to help Sam choose a fab dress for the occasion (thanks so much ladies!)

On Monday at 8 am, Sam was met by a member of the team and taken to the studio ready to set up. There were briefings, rehearsals, and lots of coffee before the show went live on air at lunchtime. Boost was one of the three companies showcased on the show. Kelly from My Pink Planner has recently been treated for breast cancer and created a planner that supports people to navigate and organise their treatment journey. The Powley Family were inspired by Betsy’s cancer treatment to create their own very special range of pyjamas that make things easier and more comfortable for children who are receiving hospital care.

Although appearing on live TV was a bit scary, Sam was thrilled to be featured with Boost and show our breast forms to a wider audience. Thanks so much to all the production team at Steph’s Packed Lunch and Channel 4 who looked after everyone so well and made us feel comfortable and welcomed on our first live TV interview.
