How do you get Fitted for a Breast Prosthesis?

Getting fitted for a Breast Prosthesis is an important step in finding the right Breast Form for you. It’s not absolutely necessary for everyone but it can be highly beneficial for anyone who struggles with finding a bra that’s comfortable for a Breast Form or is having a hard time even finding the right Breast Form to begin with. Many of our lovely customers have asked about how they would get fitted for, so here’s an (admittedly not all inclusive) list of places you can get fitted, especially if you want a Boost Breast Form.

 

Visit an independent Bra Fitter:

The best way to get fitted for both a Breast Prosthesis and a bra that fits with it (if required) is to visit a mastectomy friendly Bra Fitter. Independent shops are far better for this than chains as they tend to be far more accurate with their assessments and far more likely to provide you with something that really meets all your needs. You’ll also be supporting the local highstreet and helping independent businesses thrive. Get Fitted on the NHS:

After a Mastectomy, you are entitled to a free Breast Form provided by the NHS. In certain areas the variety of choices of Breast Prostheses are wider and you may get a good fitting, however, there are drawbacks. You may not be happy with the first Breast Form you receive or want one that is more catered for exercise and swimming. Nevertheless, this can be a really valuable option and many people really appreciate the convenience of this way of getting a Breast Form.

 

Visit in person:

Not all Breast Form manufacturers will be this open but we can guarantee that there are opportunities to visit us in-person and get fitted directly from the people who know the most about their style of Breast Form.
